Segmental resection of the metatarsal bones requires stable fixation, compression in the area of the osteotomy sufficient for successful consolidation in the postoperative period. Given anatomic and physiological features of metatarsus, surgical approach and implanting must be less invasive.ObjectiveTo choose a stable and minimally invasive method of segmental resection of the diaphysis of the metatarsal bones; a method of osteosynthesis.Materials and methodsAssessment of methods of fixing segments of the metatarsal bones.ResultsFixation methods for metatarsal segments during molding resection were evaluated, optimal fixation methods were chosen.ConclusionShort beam nail (SBN) intramedullar implant is low invasive. It is characterized by enough stable fixation for bone segments.
