Implicit learning of artificial grammars: cognitive set vs. Feedback

Бесплатный доступ

The article deals with effects of implicit learning conditioned by different types of cognitive set and feedback. Experimental design and the results are explained in detail. The procedure utilizes artificial grammars as the matter to be learned implicitly. A considerable effect of implicit learning was found when a relevant cognitive set was implemented only, i.e. when participants were told that there is a grammar rule in the task to be done. We also assume the existence of latent learning under conditions of a relevant feedback. This proposition is supported by the difference of time response latency between correct and incorrect answers.
