Objective: to considering obesity as a risk factor for cancers of different localization. Materials and methods: the study included 1200 patients with neoplasms of different localization treated in RNCR for the period 2004 - 2010; 152 (the main group) - patients with synchronous and metachronous primary multiple tumors, 1048 persons (control group) - patients with no primary tumor multiplicity within five years of observation. Results: we found the direct positive relationship between increased BMI and the development of synchronous and metachronous adenocarcinoma of the breasts, colon and prostate and a direct negative relationship with the development of second malignant lesions localized in the stomach. Conclusions: thus obesity is one of the parameters of "breeding ground" for tumors of several localizations. Our results characterize an increased BMI as a factor contributing to the development of multiple primary malignant neoplasms of the reproductive organs and the colon, which can be used as a ground for optimization of algorithms of diagnostics and prophylaxis of neoplasms.
