Information competence: fundamental approach

In the article the interpretation of information competence as a key and as a professional one is stated. Information competence is understood as the ability of a person to apply information and computer technologies in the professional activity, as skills in information resource usage profession ally for solving professional tasks. Formation of information competence should continuous through in school higher education system, it should be of both key and professional character, be ecocentric in its content. Information competence of pupils and students is the goal of education and has fundamental value the personal and professional development of future professionals.
