Personal information culture: leading methodological approaches

The article reveals the essential meaning of the leading methodological approaches to the concept of “personal information culture.” The author presents the basic methodological approaches in the context of formation of information culture bases: systemic, cultural, psychological and pedagogical, sociological, social and cultural. Systematized the basic functions of personal information culture: cultural and historical continuity, cognitive, educational, informational and communicative, regulatory, analytical and cultural creative), identified the principles and indicators of its formation. It substantiates the idea that the concept of information culture is due to the social and recreational needs of the individual preferences in the harmonization of the spiritual world of the individual, in the process of mastering the socially significant information; the ability to social adaptation in the rapidly changing economic, political and general cultural conditions; independence in the interpretation of the information received; in the development of critical thinking; in the choice of types of social and cultural activities in the Information Society as part of the formation of the personality culture in the conclusion of the article the author summarizes the conceptual approaches to the study of the foundations of personal information culture, and comes to the conclusion that it is a multidimensional concept, seen from the perspective of the humanities - philosophy, cultural studies, psychology, pedagogy and social and cultural activities, as well as from the standpoint of the essential characteristics, which are the figures: the accuracy, relevance, competence, communication skills
