Information and communication function of journalism and its social-forming potential

The purpose of this work is to identify the possibilities of the information and communication function of journalism in terms of the creation and improvement of society. The concepts of information and communication are studied from the point of view of philosophical, sociological, theoretical-journalistic and other approaches, the dialectical connection of information and communication in journalism is revealed. It is concluded that the information and communication function reveals its socio-anthropological genesis, acting as one of the foundations of socio-cultural processes and formalizing the institutional status of journalism.
