Linguistic education informatization: the Great Britain experience

Nowadays scientific interest in Russia and abroad is aimed at comprehending the linguistic education informatization as a process. The purpose of the article is to investigate the Great Britain experience in this sphere using the materials of British Educational Training and Technology Show held in London. Undoubtedly, education informatization is a great concern of British government, administrators, educators, teachers, etc. The article analyses four basic directions of ICT integration in foreign language learning. The first is “education space management” which includes innovative projects in language firmware such as multimedia language laboratories equipped with unique apparatus and programs. The second is “education through play” dedicated to using of entertainment devices and language games programs for linguistic education. The third “next generation learning support” embraces the problems of national educational standard in informational and communicational sphere creation which includes foreign language learning standard as its part. The fourth direction are issues of teachers training in education informatization. Conclusion: the technological approach to modernization of linguistic education informatization is chosen as the main one.
