Innovation strategy as a tool for forming competitive advantage of a transport company

A changing market requires constant improvement of business processes, and innovation opens up new horizons of consumption for customers. In the conditions of dynamic changes, it is important to find proper innovative trajectory. Currently, railway transport, like the entire transport system, is undergoing significant changes. Competition is growing, attention to integration, implementation of digital solutions and new business models is increasing. Based on an analysis of the activities of ОАО «Russian Railways», we have undertaken business research in order to determine an innovation strategy and develop a model of innovation activity for new quality and economic characteristics of services provided. The domestic market has a maximum capacity. The implementation of an innovative strategy will allow the holding to operate in a highly competitive, complex and non-monopoly international market. We have identified that there is a great potential for new types of activities, in particular, travel industry.
