Innovative formats of tourist accommodation

The events of recent years have had a strong impact on people’s lives in general and in particular on the tourism sector. In the context of a pandemic, due to the need to comply with quarantine and self-isolation standards, it became necessary to develop electronic ticket booking and short-distance tourism within one’s region or country. These innovations have firmly entered people’s lives and contributed to the emergence of such innovative tourism formats as staycations, glamping, coworking and others. The article presents the schemes of the percentage ratio of types of tourism in demand among tourists, established on the basis of empirical research and content analysis and analysis of the ratio of outbound and domestic tourism in Russia at the present time. The scientific novelty lies in the analysis of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the development of tourism and in identifying trends in tourism formats for the next year. As a result, it was revealed that in the coming year, remote work will become more widespread, the practice of combining rest and work in one trip will become widespread, and the demand for eco-tourism and accommodation of tourists in comfortable conditions in nature and in rural areas will also grow.
