Текст научной статьи Innovative activities of an English teacher

A modern teacher is a person who performs various functions not only in an educational institution, but also beyond. Among the pedagogical functions, one of the important places is occupied by innovation. The essence of the teacher’s innovative activity is the revision of the very concept of the organization of educational and cognitive activity of students and the emphasis from the educational activity on the transformative activity.

Innovative professional - pedagogical activity is a productive activity that involves a creative approach, solving non-standard professional problems and a high level of development of professional competencies. An analysis of the scientific, methodological, and psychological and pedagogical literature, as well as our own experience in pedagogical activity, showed that all existing innovations in pedagogical science are classified into three groups: organizational, related to the optimization of the conditions of educational activity; methodological, aimed at updating the content of education and improving its quality, as well as managerial, improving the management system.

In pedagogy, “innovative activity” is considered more deeply and has a wider semantic range. This is a “focused pedagogical activity based on the comprehension of one's own pedagogical experience by comparing and studying the educational process in order to achieve better results, gain new knowledge, introduce new pedagogical practice, the creative process of planning and implementing pedagogical innovations aimed at improving quality education. This is a socio-pedagogical phenomenon, reflecting the creative potential of the teacher ”.

In his works, V. A. Slobodchikov noted that “innovative activity is the highest factor in personal self-development, acts as a creative process to transform pedagogical reality and the personality of the teacher; actualizes the system of values, deepens value orientations, promotes spiritual and moral selfstrengthening of the personality; creates the possibility of gaining significant status in the pedagogical community; promotes self-realization of the personality of the teacher in the innovative personal space of the educational institution ”[6]Innovative activity has a significant impact on the professionally -creative self-development of the teacher. Professionally-creative selfdevelopment is a personality trait that is characterized by the need for a conscious, qualitative change in oneself as a subject of activity and the formation of a professional position.

In the article of one of the teachers, professional and creative selfdevelopment is considered “as being included in innovative activity, which characterizes the degree to which he implements the ideas of innovative education and requires the active use of intellectual, spiritual and physical forces, the intensive participation of the personality in its entirety in innovative activity”.

The innovative activity of teachers means its “inclusion in the creation and use of pedagogical innovations in the practice of training and education of future specialists, the creation of a certain innovative environment in an educational institution”. Under the conditions of modernization of modern society, the innovative type of training is aimed at creating a person who is able to independently solve emerging problems that both an individual and society as a whole faces. The task of the teacher is to help the individual to form such skills and abilities, with the help of which she could not only learn the world, but also is able to transform it. Actualizing the problems of improving the quality of training of students of secondary vocational education institutions. Innovation activity is gradually becoming the main mechanism for the development of the secondary vocational education system. It is focused not so much on transferring constantly out-of-date knowledge to students, but on mastering them with new technologies and methods that allow them to constantly receive, master and use continuously updated information.

Innovative activities in education also include various interactive technologies that imply a significantly greater involvement of students in the pedagogical process compared to traditional forms of acquiring knowledge, skills and abilities. The use of interactive technologies allows you to implement such important principles of didactics as visibility, the connection of theory with practice, the principle of developing learning, the transition from simple to complex, and also increases educational motivation. As a result, the effectiveness of the pedagogical process increases significantly. Based on my own experience, I believe that the technology of integrated learning in English lessons is fundamental. First of all, these are skills building lessons.

The integrated lessons developed by me do not differ from traditional lessons in types and forms. The difference is that all types and forms of integrated lessons imply a sufficiently large information block at the lesson itself or independent work on solving a problem, which makes the process of learning English more effective. And I can say that studying the material in small blocks does not lead to the formation of a knowledge system. The process of conscious, deep assimilation of the material slows down.
