This article examines the institutional environment for engaging youth in scientific activity as a systemic factor in the formation of research competencies and professional identity of young scientists. The main elements of the environment are analyzed, including educational institutions, state and regional programs, digital platforms, public initiatives, and monitoring systems. Special attention is given to the mechanisms for integrating school, university, and research levels, as well as to the prospects for developing mentoring and interdisciplinary programs.
