Institutional and economic aspects of the literary tourism development in Russian regions as a type of cultural tourism

The purpose of this article is to study and critically analyze the institutional and economic foundations that influence the development of literary tourism at the regional level in the Russian Federation. By examining regional policies, strategic initiatives, funding structures and tourism outcomes, the study aims to identify factors that facilitate or hinder the transformation of literary heritage into a sustainable and competitive tourism product. Particular attention is paid to the comparative analysis of individual Russian regions, highlighting differences in policy integration, stakeholder coordination and financial investment. The article aims to offer practical ideas for policymakers, cultural institutions and tourism development agencies on how literary tourism can serve not only as a tool for cultural preservation and identity strengthening, but also as a driver of regional economic diversification and location-based development.
