Instrumental performing and performance contests

The article considers the significance of holding contests on folk instruments of different levels at present, those of orchestras and ensembles of folk instruments. The author pays the attention of their participants to be more thorough in the choice of the repertoire of the contest program, the use of musical works of different directions and genres, the importance of revealing the artistic essence of the composition. The recommendations for observing the rules of creating video and sound recording are given. The significance and necessity of participating in the performance contests for further improvement of performing skills are underlined.
