This article discusses the need to diagnose the formation of competencies in pedagogical college students in accordance with the requirements of the modern standard (FSES SPE) in the context of digital transformation, which is an obvious but not unambiguous task. Since its solution is associated with overcoming the totality of existing contradictions in the system of monitoring and evaluating the results of educational achievements and the newly emerging ones - in the requirements for the quality of training a modern college graduate. The authors of the article associate the solution of this problem with the choice of factors and mechanisms for the implementation of modern tools for diagnosing the quality of formation in students of professional competencies.
