The article examines the prospects for integrating blockchain technologies and smart packaging into the food industry supply chain in order to increase transparency, traceability and product safety. Against the background of global problems with falsification, violations of storage conditions and insufficient awareness of logistics participants, this technological "association" represents an effective solution. The principles of operation of blockchain registries and smart packaging sensors (RFID, NFC, TTI, gas sensors, etc.) are described, and examples of successful implementation based on IBM Food Trust, Walmart, and Carrefour platforms are given. The advantages of using it are revealed - reduction of food waste, compliance with new regulatory requirements; technological, legal and organizational challenges of implementation are also outlined. It is concluded that there is a need for cross-industry cooperation to scale innovative solutions in food logistics.
