Integration of substantial with functional approaches to the problem of a human's nature

The article explores the specifics of substantial and functional approaches to the problem of human's nature and possibilities to integrate one approach with another. It is stated that the refusal from substantialism is not always justified. Differentiation between logical substantionalism and ontological one is discussed.
