Integration processes in transport systems of Eurasian Economic Union

An analysis is made of the influence of factors on the implementation of integration processes in the transport sector. The issues of assessing the level of the transport capacities are considered for the transport systems of the Eurasian Economic Union during transit freight traffic, taking into account their unevenness in different directions. Modern research does not pay enough attention to improving the efficiency of transit transport of the Eurasian Economic Unioncountries with consideration to the unevenness of cargo flows. Insufficient scientific elaboration of these issues determines the relevance of the study. Methodical bases are developed for integration of transit communications between the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union by creating transit terminal complexes providing reduction of unproductive runs of transit transport. Expressions have been obtained for estimating the excess transit transfer capacities of the transport systems of the Eurasian Economic Union, and for assessing the effect resulting from the integration of freight flows in terminal complexes. Recommendations are given on the expediency of creating transit transport nodes in transit regions, the transport systems of which provide for the redistribution of multidirectional cargo flows according to maximum freight traffic (case study of the Chelyabinsk Region). The coefficient of unevenness in the directions of the region's freight traffic to all adjacent regions implemented through a transit transport hub has been developed. Integration of multidirectional at a maximum capacity inter-terminal cargo flows in a transit terminal complex located within the Chelyabinsk Region provides for a reduction in excess capacity of 678.5 tons/year and in aggregate expenses for the operation of transit transport by more than 630 million rubles per year. The methodological basis for the integration of transit communications is oriented towards practical application. The results of the study can be used in the activities of transport organisations of the Eurasian Economic Union countries to improve the efficiency of transit transport and optimize the operation of terminal complexes.
