When learning English writing takes an important place. By means of the letter information, data to other person or other people is transferred.
Through writing we can keep the information for a long time, even for centuries, to pass them on to future generations. Without writing, we would not be able to preserve the scientific and historical heritage, would not be able to learn about the achievements of past centuries, the history of the peoples of the world, etc. As you can see, writing is a speech activity and should be studied. In scientific terms, writing is a productive speech activity consisting of the codification of information and information through writing. In addition, the letter is the purpose and means of education and training. In the past, almost all foreign language curricula for different types of educational institutions defined writing not as a goal, but as a means of education.
Only in the 60s of the XX century a modest requirement was included in the foreign language programs, in which the letter was defined as the purpose of education, and the task of forming the skills of writing a letter to foreign friends was set. In the new curricula since the end of the twentieth century, writing has been defined as both a goal and a means of teaching a foreign language. Writing at all stages of training was of auxiliary importance and fulfilled the task of teaching tools for the development and improvement of skills of speaking, understanding through listening and reading.
In V-IX grades of secondary school, writing is considered the purpose of education. Writing is used as a medium of instruction and plays a different role at

For example, the main task of the first stage of education consists of learning to write, as in this period formed the skills of writing and sound consistency skills - letters. These skills are a prerequisite for the formation of reading and writing skills. At the second stage of training, the work carried out on the letter is transferred to the work on spelling related to the accumulation of language material. At the same time, written speech develops as a means of enabling the formation of oral speech skills. At this stage of education skills of writing and speech are improved. The work on spelling continues, developing the skills of writing thoughts. Based on the technique of writing, the written presentation of thoughts there are difficulties in teaching writing, which are divided into extralinguistic and linguistic difficulties. To extralinguistic difficulties include:

written presentation of thoughts.
In addition, the exercises are divided into 2 types: language or preparatory and speech exercises. With the correct spelling of letters, letter combinations, words and phrases used training exercises on the preparation of sentences of words, when working on the text used exercises to reduce the text, drawing up a plan for writing the presentation. Exercise, training presentation of ideas, are spoken. These include an essay, a statement, a letter to foreign friends, writing an abstract, a written statement of a topic. Preparatory exercises primarily involve rewriting exercises performed on the basis of samples to expand or simplify sentences. Another type of preparatory exercises aimed at developing the ability to Express information in their own words. Speech exercises aimed at the development of writing begin with written exercises. When forming a letter used exercises, written work, dictation, presentation, image, story, essay, writing letters and others.
