Integrative tendencies in defining the content of didactic category "education tool"

The different approaches to the definition of "education tool" are considered in the article. The author comes to a conclusion, that in spite of different usage of this term, most of the scientists define it as a way of influence of teacher on the starting state of student's knowledge. The given definition completely coincides with psychological and philosophic interpretation of the notion "tool".
