With the development of technology, artificial intelligence has gradually been introduced into English writing teaching. The spread of AI tools such as ChatGPT has had a profound impact on language teaching, helping teachers effectively organize class preparation, conduct lessons, and grade assignments. Moreover, such tools promote broadening of thinking, stimulate creativity, create a personalized learning environment, provide timely and effective feedback, and improve the overall learning outcome. This paper examines the use of ChatGPT 4.0 on the example of writing an English argumentative essay, analyzing its potential to support both teachers and learners. ChatGPT can help writers at the initial stages of writing, provide ideas, help with the formation of the text structure, correct grammatical errors, and improve overall writing productivity.
