The article considers general approaches to the problem of the modern development of intellectual culture. It is mentioned that intellectual culture of the society represents the level of development of education, science and culture that organize information and intellectual processes creating a qualitatively new person, society and the state on the whole. The intellectual culture of a society accumulates, reproduces and creates special information in the form of a value system that contributes to the self-organization of major social forces. The author emphasizes that the scientific-technical and intellectual potential is the most important basis for the security of the country.
