The article discusses modern challenges to the education system - increasing interactivity and the need to master the remote learning format. The conclusions made in the article allow us to assert that the distance format, with all its shortcomings, is still capable of increasing the effectiveness of training in certain aspects - first of all, to ensure a better memorization of educational material. The authors were prompted to such conclusions by a study conducted in the spring of 2020 in conditions of self-isolation and the implementation of the educational process in a distance format.
