The article considers a notion of interculture as a priority target of foreign languages teaching at contemporary stage. The author specifies the character of intercultural communicative competence and proposes a grounded analysis of the essence of intercultural communication as well as a possibility to overcome its main problem - intercultural misunderstanding.
