Internationalization and globalization in education: subject matter and the correlation of the concepts

Integration processes in economics, culture and education are inextricably linked, forming a kind of addiction between the educational level of citizens and the socio-economic development of the country: the higher the level of educated workforce, the higher the quality and productivity of their labor. All countries of the world are undergoing different stages of modernization of higher education due to the widespread globalization and development of internationalization processes. These trends are intertwined in education, but their boundaries and relationships are not always clearly defined. The author has attempted to characterize these terms in this paper in order to distinguish between them and to identify the extent of their influence on education. Summarized, internationalization implies the preservation and development of the national higher education system in an international context, while globalization implies the complete destruction of the national education system and joining the world order without national borders.
