The expression “After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations” in Zech 2:8 ( KJV ) has always been a difficult passage to interpret. The Christian exegetical tradition has interpreted this passage as a messianic prophecy. However, most modern biblical scholars do not view this passage as messianic but interpret the person being “sent” as Zecharaiah himself. In this article the author discusses the basis for the two interpretations and what can be said of the person being sent based strictly on the biblical text.
