Interpretation of works of art in fiction and non-fiction literature

A comparative analysis of descriptions of works of art in fiction and non-fiction texts is given in the article. Line art works and literary works including the description of the canvas "Night Watch" by Rembrandt are analyzed here. Their interpretative plan is considered. It is indicated that investigators viewing the tendency of art critic descriptions diverge in opinion only concerning the subject side of the works of art.
