Intertextuality as a way of the main heroine image creation in L. Ulitskaya's novel «Medea and her children»

The given article is devoted to L.Ulitskaya's novel «Medea and her children», that we analyze from the position of ntertextuality. Theoretical aspects of the given concept, its basic kinds are studied in the work. It is defined the level of a literary work on which reminiscences and allusions of the antique mythology appear. The author proves that creating the main heroine image the writer draws the parallel with the ancient legend about Medea. Intertextual connections are used as the main method of comparison.
