In the center of the current work is the problem of the influence of pataphysical writers on the style of the French writer Georges Perec. For the author, the artistic legacy of Alfred Jarry and Raymond Roussel was of great importance. In relation to the texts of these writers, as well as some others, genetic and typological connections can be established in Perec’s works. These points of contact between writers are an important element for the interpretation of both Perec’s works and, in general, “pataphysical writing” (or “patawriting”), i.e., some common patterns of work with a literary text among pataphysical writers. In his works, Georges Perec often resorted to a language game, created non-existent and sometimes impossible objects, conveyed inexpressible states on the verge of serious and ironic, arranged deliberate restrictions for own expressions. These elements are largely part of the poetic inventory of the pataphysicists, their “patawriting”. In Perec’s texts, the reader encounters a vast array of poetic material that has a literary and pataphysical origin. Antinomies, anomalies, syzygy, clinamen, absolute, special pataphysical humor, pataphysical time and space, as well as pataphora appear in his texts. In addition to typological similarities in common techniques and mood, many of Perec’s texts literally refer to the work of Roussel and Jarry, while Perec not only makes references to his teachers, but also uses and rethinks some of their narrative strategies, enriching his creative method.
