Engineering education based on interdisciplinary approach is the key to professional advance

The article deals with the improving of engineering education at technical universities based on the interdisciplinary approach. Essential necessity for interaction of humanities departments with general education and graduate departments for creating modern educational content to eliminate the narrow-type graduate education is considered. Overcoming the logic of "catching up development" and changing it to advanced creative thinking, as in the case of students working with a creative language project at the first and second years, favours to the development of comprehensive engineering thinking. The role of a foreign language as a necessary resource in providing high-tech education of a Russian engineer is shown.
