Ippic genre in painting of the polish exiled artist Jozef Berkman

The article is devoted to the creativity of Jozef Berkman, a Polish exiled artist of the second half of the XIX century. He portrayed horses in his works, thus contributing to the formation of the hippie genre. The author’s paintings have been analyzed. The issue under discussion is raised whether Jozef Berkman is a pioneer of the hippie genre on the territory of the Baikal region.
