Ischemic postconditioning of the heart. Part I

Authors of the review analyze papers focused on the problem of ischemic postconditioning of the heart. In the review, the authors demonstrate that postconditioning decreases an infarct size, prevents apoptosis of cardiomyocytes, improves cardiac contractility in reperfusion period, and augments cardiac tolerance to arrhythmogenic action of reperfusion.
