Based on the analysis of the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education, an assessment of possible prospects for its use in specialized medical education was carried out. The works that include the analysis of the possibilities of using AI in higher education,including the medical profile of training, are considered and systematized. The possibilities of both in medical sciences and practical healthcare are analyzed. On the basis of the analysis, positive effects were identified and -increased motivation, active involvement in the learning process and personalization of learning. The problems of the widespread use of AI technologies in education are revealed, including the consequences of reducing the role of the teacher in the learning process, which leads to ethical violations, possible social and psychological problems, and a decrease in critical thinking. The prospects of using AI in higher medical education and ways to overcome problems are analyzed.
