The art of game

The article deals with the phenomenon of game evoking esthetic experiences and presented in theatrical and literary works. The author discusses the chess as a specific kind of game activity, where a player gets a status of professional. The paper attempts to identify specific features of such games, it led to the search for criteria of game activity, on the basis of which it is possible to rank some games as works of art and reveal their difference from usual game practice.
