Spanish novella as the reflection of the national mentality

The article deals with contexture historical as one of the basic categories of the developing of the genre constants in the national literatures. Communicative situation has come about dialogue between reader, author and principal character. It specifies and identifies the genre. Historical environment determines the genre complex and identifies the genre forms, that set up the complex mentioned. However the relations between these genre forms had blurred outlines, because of different literariness of small or minor forms. Under the influence of developing literary tradition and cultural transformations these forms are evolving and taking the outstanding characteristics, which were in keeping with public interests. Long coexistence of Arabic and Spanish cultures results in a situation, that Spanish literature is out of variation of anecdote, that generates Italian novellino, French fabliaux, German shwank. Any half-word for scabrousness or for dirty jokes is out of Spanish literature. It deals with decent texts, which govern the composition of the short stories collections and corpuses: paroemias, parable, fairy tales, miracle and decent anecdotes.
