This paper examines current issues related to the integration of alternative energy sources — solar, wind, hydrogen, and geothermal — into the technological processes of the chemical industry. An analysis of the current state of global energy and the specific energy consumption characteristics of the chemical sector has been conducted. The necessity of transitioning the industry to renewable energy sources (RES) in the context of global climate change and increasingly stringent environmental requirements is justified. The main areas of RES application in chemical production are systematized: «green» hydrogen for synthesis processes, solar concentrators for high-temperature reactions, and wind energy integration with production facilities. Quantitative data on energy efficiency and the economic impact of RES implementation at major chemical enterprises are presented. Key barriers are identified, and state support measures are proposed to accelerate the energy transition in the chemical industry. The research findings can be used in developing sustainable development strategies for industrial enterprises and shaping energy policy at the national level.
