Use of authentic song material in classes of German as a second foreign language

In this article authentic song material is considered as one of the effective means of teaching a foreign language. It describes the methodology of using German-language songs in the process of teaching German at the initial stage (A1-A2) in higher education. The criteria of song material selection are considered. As an example, only some types of tasks that can be applied in work with German-language song material are given.
