Using colour designations as figures of speech in Tatar and Udmurt literature

The paper explored usage of colour designations as the figures of speech in the Tatar and Udmurt fiction’ language being illustrated with the poetry’ samples of poets belonging to Tatar and Udmurt literature of the XX century, namely Shaukat Galiev and Vladimir Romanov. The study identified universal and ethno-specific idiomatic properties of colour designation in structurally different languages in their functional application.
