Using the game “Life” as a means of developing entrepreneurial competences of future specialists

The article proposes an original methodology of role-playing information modeling, developed during the dissertation research by Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences S. V. Yunov and applied in the educational process of universities using the game “Life” by John Conway. The considered methodology integrates modern pedagogical technologies and methods, the study of programming languages, writing code on the Python tool, as well as modeling complex computer systems for the development of entrepreneurial competencies in students of higher educational institutions. The main attention in the article is paid to the formation of analytical and systemic thinking, teamwork, project approach and skills necessary for entrepreneurs and conducting any entrepreneurial activity. The key aspects of the methodology are presented, its educational value and practical significance for use in the educational process are indicated, and the possibility of adapting the method to other disciplines is considered. The article emphasizes the importance of actively involving students in the educational process, making decisions under uncertainty, developing independent work skills and the skill of implementing programs in the Python programming language. Emphasis is placed on the uniqueness of the approach, combining elements of gamification and project activities in the educational process, which ensures high motivation and involvement of students in completing tasks set by the teacher in the process of mastering the academic discipline. It is expected that the methodology proposed in the work can be used in various fields of science, thereby opening up new opportunities for improving the quality of education and training highly qualified specialists in the field of information technology and entrepreneurship.
