Using badminton elements in professional training

Professional training of a specialist cannot do without both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. They are certainly important for learning and developing a personality, help to enter the world and interact harmoniously with it. The competencies that a future specialist should have include not only knowledge of the general scientific picture of the world and their professional activities, but also the need to constantly “work” with them when solving various problems. Physical education and sports play an important role in the formation of a professional. They allow to strengthen and develop both the physical and personal qualities of a person. One of such activities is badminton, which originated in ancient times as a game of “feather ball” and became an Olympic sport at the end of the 20th century. This game is easy and simple at the everyday level and highly technical at the professional level, on the one hand, it can be considered only as a tool for organizing recreation and free time, and on the other - as a constant challenge to the body and spirit, since it is supposed to work on physical fitness, willpower, attention, cognitive abilities, sociability and character in general. The article attempts to analyze and reveal the potential of badminton in the professional training of a specialist through an appeal to the experience of working with students who have chosen engineering areas of training. Attention is paid to approaches to the strategy of organizing classes, an important place among which is occupied by tactical techniques of individual work of a qualified teacher-mentor, recognizing the student as a subject of the educational process. The importance of creating a favorable and safe environment in the classroom, popularizing physical education and sports is emphasized. In addition, the need for continuous improvement of the infrastructure is noted.
