This article discusses the use and development of the competence approach in education and socio-cultural education of pupils. Shows the development of the personality of starsheklassnikov in terms of educational and professional environment, under the influence of certain conditions and mechanisms that are characterized by: their attitude toward school and their future careers, self-discipline and the surrounding society; the influence of the educational process on the motivation of learning. The estimation of the subjective position of the pupils in relation to their own learning and development and, consequently, to learn, to achieve professional and personal goals
