Use of literary and regional studies materials teaching genre of legends in the seventh grade

The article considers one of the urgent problem in present method of teaching Literature: the use of literary and regional studies materials teaching of genres of Russian nonfairy prose. The author proposes lessons of out-of-class reading in an extra-mural excursion form with using legends materials. Analyzing school schemes on studying nonfairy prose, defining legends as a genre of folklore, their characteristics and main collections of legends is presented.
