The article provides a theoretical analysis and assessment of the practical application of the Moodle digital platform in the educational activities in the MIREA - Russian Technological University in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and at the present time. The purpose of the article is to identify the advantages and disadvantages of using online platforms in the educational process and the related risks and give recommendations to improve and optimize functioning of the online platforms for the effective formation and development of professional competencies of future technical specialists.
