The research presents a sociological assessment of professional labor potential in Belgorod region enterprises being a part of Energomash-Stroy Holding Company, Novator plant, and Power Engineering Corporation - Metal Structures Plant. The rational use of the professional labor potential of the staff is determined by the fact that only every seventh person works to his utmost capacity (“not always” is the most common answer). Substantial wage, meaningful, interesting work, comfortable working conditions are the main reasons for the hard work and devotion. Most employees and managers do not have the desire to change something in their work in particular and the company activities in general. At the same time, half of the respondents believe that there is no way to change working conditions. Involvement in co-management and innovative activity is constrained by the lack of resources, experience, and motivation.
