Using various techniques of working with a biology text book in the classroom to develop students' independence

The article discusses the problem of forming the independence of 7th grade students in biology lessons through the use of various methods of working with a textbook. The techniques were based on a differentiated approach-reproductive-search, comparative-analytical and creative. A spart of the pedagogical experiment, a questionnaire was conducted at the ascertaining stage to assess the independence of schoolchildren in biology lessons. Diagnostics of cognitive, motivational, and regulatory-volitional criteria were used to identify the initial level of formation of students' in dependent learning activities. At the formative stage, lessons were conducted based on a differentiated approach to independent work with a biology textbook. As a result of the chosen method of organizing educational activities, 7th grade students not only improved their independence criteria, but also improved their attitude to independent work.
