The use of retrospective project documentation in historical research: problems and solutions

The article is devoted to the characteristics of the composition and content of project documentation using the example of documents permanently stored in the Russian State Archive in Samara. The author points out the problems existing among historians in working with scientific and technical documentation. She draws the attention of researchers involved in studying the history of industry and socio-economic development of territories, as well as individual enterprises and institutions, to the original information that can be gleaned from these documents, in contrast to other types of documentation. The article also highlights the activities of archive aimed at providing researchers with practical assistance in solving problems that arise when working with scientific and technical documentation.
