Systems of alternative (additional) communication are considered, the necessity of their use in case of communication disorders and speech development delays is substantiated. The classification of alternative communication systems is given. The characteristic of alternative (additional) communication systems that are most often used in Russia when working with children with autism spectrum disorders is described.
