Using airsoft guns in the process of improving the training of police officers

The article discusses the issue of improving the training of police officers in Russia. The author develops and justifies the efficiency of methods for improving the firearms training of police officers on the basis of modeling the situations while on duty to protect public order. The study proves the effectiveness of using airsoft guns for training purposes which allows one to simulate real firefight in case of effective equipment, thereby reducing the impact of negative factors on shooting accuracy. Based on the research results, the author concludes that the developed technique for training the police officers to use firearms creates an enormous potential for improving their firearms skills; contributes to the formation of the employees’ courage, resolution, and self-reliance; enhances their psychological readiness for firefight and provides the prerequisites for the successful disposal of a criminal.
