The use of professionally-oriented texts when teaching reading to students of the faculty of pharmacy

The article discusses the problem of reading special texts as a type of speech activity in foreign language classes for students of the Pharmaceutical University. It is emphasized that reading holds a special place, since it enables future specialists to use sources of information related to their professional activities, develops students' interest in their future profession. The authors describe tailor-made study guides that are used in the learning process. It is noted that in the development of these study guides special attention is paid to the selection of language material: authentic texts related to professional activities that affect not only professional, but also ethical problems regarding practical activities of a future pharmaceutical worker, and include different types of reading tasks.
