The article describes the importance of using the capabilities of the contextual approach in the study of the formation of soft skills of college students; reveals the terminological field of the concept of «context»; describes the tasks of the contextual approach in the formation of soft skills of college students and puts forward practical possibilities of using the contextual approach in the process of forming soft skills. The main purpose of the work is to substantiate the importance of the contextual approach in the process of forming soft skills and to characterize the practical application of the capabilities of the contextual approach.
