Currently, the secondary education system is experiencing a severe staff shortage: there is a lack of teaching personnel in general education institutions. This field is becoming insufficiently attractive for both young graduates and more experienced teachers, which makes investigating the reasons for this problem particularly important. In the context of developing the concept of human-centered personnel management, it is vital to analyze the existing opportunities for the realization of meaningful professional activities. Identified problematic areas necessitate further improvement of personnel and social policies implemented in educational institutions. The implementation of a set of appropriate measures will, in the long term, help resolve the pressing issues of attracting and retaining highly qualified personnel in the general education school system. This article explores the results of a theoretical study and empirical analysis of the value-motivational meanings of pedagogical employees’ activities (N 117). В статье рассматривались результаты теоретического изучения и эмпирического анализа ценностно-мотивационных смыслов деятельности педагогических работников (N 117).
